Cavaliers Available for Adoption
Not all of the Cavaliers in our care are listed on our website. Usually dogs are not posted until they are ready to be adopted. Anyone wishing to adopt from us is strongly encouraged to apply before dogs are posted on our website. Our process is very thorough. We do not place dogs on a first-come, first-served basis, we do adoptions based on BEST match to the dog's needs and the applicants home and lifestyle.
Remember, rescue is not for everyone and that's okay. Our pups are not perfect, they can have medical issues or may come to us "broken" depending on their background. But if you are open to looking for "imperfect" and to giving a forever home to a Cavalier in need, then submit an application!
Bea in Melbourne
Age: 8 years (DOB 3/22/10)
Target Weight: 14 pounds
Temperament: Velcro girl!
Health: Vision impaired, severe dry eye and heart murmur. Daily medications required for both.
Meet 🐝Sweet Little Bea! This petite girl has been through a lot of change lately. Her elderly person passed away, but thankfully she found her way into the CRF family. She has since seen eye and heart doctors, and will require continued medications for both for life, along with continued care with board certified specialists. She has had a dental and will be spayed prior to adoption.
Everyone falls in love with sweet Little Bea! Her favorite place is snuggled up wherever her person is. She’s a Velcro Cavalier and has to be with a family who will be able to spend a lot of time with her. Bea can get anxious when left alone. She compensates for her poor sight with her hearing and sense of smell which guide her around. And Bea needs gentle reminders with things like where to find her water bowl or where her favorite blanket is. But she sleeps all night snuggled in bed next to her favorite person.
Bea loves to go on walks outside in the fresh air. In the car, she enjoys having the windows down a little to feel the breeze in her cute little face. She’s a happy girl who likes to be “out-and-about”.
Bea is being fostered in Melbourne and her adoption fee is $350.
You can Lend a Paw to Bea by sponsoring her in foster care.
Dori in Sebastian - Adopted!!
Age: 12 years (DOB unknown)
Weight: 27 pounds
Temperament: Sweet, social & polite
Health: Heart, hips & patella clear. Dry eye requiring daily drops.
This is DORI. Dori was dumped at a South Florida shelter after her owners of 12 years decided they wanted a lifestyle change. We found this sweet Blenheim girl frightened and confused in her cage and got her quickly into rescue. The gratitude in her eyes hasn’t stopped shining.
Vetting revealed much good news for our special senior. Her heart is clear and her knees and hips are in good shape, too. Her foster mom wasn’t too surprised because Dori runs and jumps like a puppy. She’s happy, active, and enjoys going for walks outside.
Dori is a perfect lady with impeccable manners. She’s always well behaved and is content curling up in cozy spots. She loves exploring and will usually follow her foster mom around from room to room. She greets everyone politely and is an absolute sweetheart.
Dori will require a dental for her sadly neglected teeth. She has since been to the eye specialist for her dry eye, she will require drops for life, but what a world of difference that's made. She was also treated for ear infections but they are all better now. We suspect Dori may be losing her hearing due to untreated infections, but that doesn't seem to phase her.
At 27lbs, Dori has long legs and adorable big paws that she loves to rest her head on. We’re overjoyed that this gentle, sweet soul will have a second chance at life, during her golden years. And what a difference since we first found Dori dumped at the shelter. Her tail hasn’t stopped wagging! Dori likes going for walks and running with her foster siblings- especially if she thinks she smells salmon! She’s also content snuggling up in her favorite cozy spot.
Dori is being fostered in Sebastian and her adoption fee is $350.
Gizmo in Daytona Beach
Age: 3 1/2 years (DOB unknown)
Weight: 23 pounds
Temperament: Snuggly lapdog; no other pets
Health: Heart, eyes & patella clear.
Forever Home Requirements: Fully-secure fence and no cats or other dogs
This is GIZMO! This handsome tri-color boy is a happy-go-lucky owner surrender that just didn't have the time Gizmo needed.
Gizmo is quite healthy. He's current on all his vaccinations, heartworm and fecal tests (both negative). And his heart, eyes and patellas have been cleared by the vet.
We have since learned that he would do best as the only dog in in the home. Gizmo does not do well with cats either. Small children are also not ideal for this boy.
Gizmo is young loving dog that loves his belly rubs and wants of attention from people. He likes to snuggle on his foster mom's lap. He's active and playful; still learning to play with toys. But he knows when to relax also. He will require a fully secure, fenced in yard to burn off some of his energy - to keep this potential houdini from breaking out of the yard. Given the chance he will run, so safety measures inside and out of the house will be required.
Gizmo is being fostered in Daytona Beach and his adoption fee is $650.
You can Lend a Paw to Gizmo by sponsoring him in foster care.
Grant in Spring Hill
Age: 7 1/2 years (DOB 11/21/10)
Weight: 26 lbs
Temperament: Typical "shadow" Cavalier, friendly with adults
Health: Heart, eyes, patella clear!
Forever Home Requirements: Only dog, older children preferred
Welcome GRANT! This handsome guy just joined CRF. He's an owner surrender. His family loved him dearly, but Grant wasn't the best fit for the children in the home. A home with older children will be what's best for Grant in his forever home.
Grant has been examine and he's a pretty healthy and sturdy boy. To date he's been cleared of any issues with his heart, eyes and patellas. Grant knows basic commands (i.e. sit, stay, down) and he really walks well on leash by his foster mom's side.
Grant is used to being king of the hill, a home without other dogs is a must. Or someone with experience managing a stronger personality. A home with cats might be an option as well.
Grant is being fostered in Spring Hill. His adoption fee is $450.
You can Lend a Paw to Grant by sponsoring him in foster care.
Honey in Boca Raton
Age: 9 years old (DOB unknown)
Weight: 18 pounds
Temperament: Sweet & affectionate
Health: Cancer-free; Heart murmur (on medications); dry eye (needs drops daily); on thyroid medications. Spay & dental completed.
Forever Home Requirements:
Fully-secure fence as she will not go potty on leash.
HONEY here and yes, I truly am that sweet! My foster mom says I’m perfect! I am a really good girl. I am very quiet, I’m loving and snuggly.
Prior to coming into rescue, I spent my first 7+ years as a breeder dog. When rescue scooped me up I needed to have surgery right away to remove a mammary mass. It was cancer but they got it all and just to be extra sure cancer is in my rear view mirror, I’ve completed chemo therapy. My doctor says that my likelihood of recurrence is about 5%. I like those odds. I need drops 2 times per day for dry eyes, I take a pill for my thyroid and another pill for my heart. I will need to see eye and heart specialists each about twice per year.
I love little tummy rubs when I wake up, I enjoy being able to sleep on the big bed but if I get hot I need to be able to get down and sleep on the floor. I snore (which my foster mom says is ‘cavalier music’).
I am a little lady and don’t like to potty on a leash so I do need a fenced yard. I enjoy having other dogs my size to pal around and nap with but I also would be fine if it was just me and my person or family.
If you are interested in giving me the pampered retirement I deserve, then please apply to adopt and ask about me!
I'm being fostered in Boca Raton and my adoption fee is $350.

Karey in Boynton Beach
Age: 6 1/2 years (DOB 10/19/11)
Weight: Target 21 pounds
Temperament: Fearful and cautious, but very sweet and curious.
Health: Heart murmur (on medications), luxating patellas (no surgery required at this time)
Forever Home Requirements:
Fully-secure fence and a like-sized dog housemate.
Sweet KAREY, affectionately known to us as "Kare-Bear", came to CRF after 6 1/2 years in the horrible life of a puppy mill that has taken a major toll on this little girl's gentle spirit. She came to us a bit broken physically and emotionally, but with patience and some serious TLC, Karey is on the long road to recovery.
Karey is a gentle, sweet girl. She's learning how to "go" outside and she's doing very well! The leash is still frightening to Karey. She prefers to go outside within the fenced yard, especially with her foster fur-siblings nearby. Karey is playing more often. Seeing her scamper with her tail wagging excitedly is a wonderful sight!
Karey is still very shy and she startles suddenly. She prefers to sit quietly in her favorite spot and watch the world. She's adjusting slowly and will need a family with loads of patience and encouragement for her. Having a fur-sibling to play with and learn from will benefit Karey.
At her cardiology visit, Karey was prescribed new medications. She's been running more and exploring more. Karey is almost at her target weight! Go Karey! Slowly, the fur on her back and tail is beginning to grow. She's a beautiful girl with soulful, expressive eyes and she's an absolute sweetheart.
Karey's forever home & health requirements:
Karey is being fostered in Boynton Beach and her adoption fee is $400.
You can Lend a Paw to Karey by sponsoring her in foster care.
Megan in Palm Coast - Adoption pending!
Age: 6 months
Weight: TBC pounds
Temperament: Social & fun-loving
Health: Heart, knees, eyes clear - will be spayed prior to adoption.
Forever Home Requirements: Fully-secured fence. Another dog in the home. Potty training.
Introducing MEGAN! Coming in at only 6 months of age, this adorable owner surrender will soon be fully vetted, spayed and then ready to go to her forever home.
Megan is still working on potty training and will require a consistent schedule. Someone home a lot will benefit her in this area. And when someone is not home, a crate will help keep her out of inevitable trouble. Megan happens to be a very curious puppy. Commitment to obedience training is a must. Overall, she has a great disposition people and animals alike - she even likes children and cats!
Megan would be best in a home with another dog to play with and learn from as she grows up. And she will require a fully-secured fenced yard to practice her potty training, plus freely explore and run around to burn that puppy energy.
As her foster mom gets to know Megan better and as vetting continues, updates will be posted.
In the meantime, Megan is being fostered in Palm Coast and her adoption fee is $1200.
You can Lend a Paw to Megan by sponsoring her in foster care.
Pebbles in The Villages
Age: 1 year old (DOB 6/29/17)
Weight: 11 pounds
Temperament: Very timid, fearful of new people and loud noises. Gentle natured but playful with similarly aged and sized Cavaliers.
Health: Heart, knees, eyes clear
Forever Home Requirements: Fully-secure fence, someone home most of the day, and a like-sized dog housemate.
Sweet PEBBLES, one of Cavalier Rescue of Florida’s youngest rescues, came to us from the horrible world of a puppy mill which in her short life already left her with her some emotional scars. She's only 11 months old, but you'd think she'd been there for much longer than that. Despite being sweet and snuggly, she's quite timid and fearful. She's very nervous around people, especially new people and children. Loud noises and quick movements scare her. Plus leash walking and potty training bring their own challenges.
Pebbles is very reliant on her foster Cavalier housemates. She's particularly drawn to the Cavalier closest in age to her. Another small, calm but youthful, similarly sized dog is critical for Pebble's forever home. She has so much to learn still.
Pebbles' must haves in her forever home include someone home most of the day. Potty training is very much a work in progress and she must have someone home to let her out every 2-3 hours to reinforce positive habits. A consistent and timely schedule is a must for Pebbles. And since leash walking is still a source of fear, she will need a fully-secured fenced yard.
Most importantly, Pebbles requires a forever family that will provide her with ultimate patience, understanding of her fears and insecurities, and the love and opportunity to blossom at her own pace and time. Pebbles is not the typical playful, confident puppy and only a special forever family will fit the bill for this unique little girl. She does love to chase a ball and run around in the yard with her foster sister, and enjoys car rides.
Pebbles has been treated for giardia, been spayed and had a light dental. But overall she's physically very healthy - heart, patellas and eyes clear!
Pebbles is being fostered in The Villages and her adoption fee is $950.
You can Lend a Paw to Pebbles by sponsoring her in foster care.
Sophia in Safety Harbor
Age: 6 years old (DOB 6/26/11)
Weight: 18 pounds
Temperament: Skittish, gentle & sweet.
Health: Spayed & dental completed. Mild heart murmur (no medications at this time).
Meet SOPHIA! This adorable 6-year-old Tri girl came to CRF from the puppy mill industry. She's since been spayed, had her dental cleaning and been monitored for her heart murmur. She's asymptomatic and no medications are required. Just a few supplements to help her out. She will, however, need continued cardiac care under the supervision of board certified cardiologist to ensure she's getting the appropriate treatment when the time comes.
Sophia is a sweet girl, though a bit shy which is quite common for Cavaliers from this background. She will require lots of patience and time to help her gain some confidence. What is normal for a "normal" dog - like eating and drinking from bowls, walking through doorways, or walking on a leash - isn't Sophia's normal.
Sophia's forever home would include:
Sophia is being fostered in Safety Harbor and her adoption fee is $450.
You can Lend a Paw to Sophia by sponsoring her in foster care.
Sunny in Boynton Beach
Age: 4-5 years old (DOB unknown)
Weight: 23 pounds
Temperament: Friendly...still learning about her.
Health: Heart, patella and hips clear. Double cataracts removed surgically - eye drops daily (likely for life).
Forever Home Requirements: To be determined.
SUNNY is as bright and cheerful as her name. We're not sure of her exact age, but it's probably between 4-5. Sunny arrived into rescue blind. She'd recently given birth and showed signs of neglect. It's evident that Sunny has had multiple litters and we can only imagine what her life has been like, especially without vision.
Sunny just underwent double-cataract surgery and she can now see. As she heals, we're sure we'll see more of her sunny personality shining through. She's affectionate, snuggly and likes to be around people. She's very smart and she's learning basic commands.
Once her eyes heal completely, Sunny will have her spay and dental. We'll update her bio just as soon as we have more information about her.
You can Lend a Paw to Sunny by sponsoring her in foster care.
Violet in Jacksonville
Age: 9 1/2 years old (DOB unknown)
Weight: approx. 21 pounds
Temperament: Loving, snuggly, loyal and obedient.
Health: Mild heart murmur (no medications), patella clear, eyes recommend daily moisture drops.
Forever Home Requirements: Someone home most or all day.
Welcome VIOLET! This lovely 9 1/2-year-old girl has joined CRF. She came to us from a home that couldn't meet her emotional needs. Some Cavaliers are very sensitive and need to be in a home with someone there for most of the day. That is Violet's absolute must-have, a mom or dad (or both) that are either retired or work from home, and will never be confined in a crate. Otherwise her anxiety shoots sky-high, even with another dog in the home. What can we say...she's a people-person kind of a dog. And so she shall have that in her forever home.
Violet is described by her foster mom to be very loving and cuddly. Violet loves her belly rub. She's very well mannered and knows some basic commands. Her favorite past-times are looking out the window both at home and in the car - "dog TV"; and she enjoys napping on big fluffy pillows. She would do best in a home with a fully-secured, fenced-in-yard, so she can run and burn some of that nervous energy.
Violet has been fully vetted (including dental, exams, etc). Her eyes are clear, but the vet strongly recommended daily moisturizing ointment. Violet has a mild heart murmur common with the breed, which does not require medications at this time. However, proper follow up with a cardiologist may be required in the future to monitor progression and/or changes.
Violet is currently being fostered in Jacksonville. Her adoption fee is $350.
You can Lend a Paw to Violet by sponsoring her in foster care.
Wyatt in Palm Coast - Adopted!!
Age: 9 years old (DOB unknown)
Weight: 19 pounds
Temperament: Smart, sweet & loyal
Health: Heart murmur (daily medications)
Forever Home Requirements: No cats & a window to look out from (fav. pastime).
Meet WYATT! This handsome 9-year-old sweetheart joined the CRF family a short time ago. His family fell on hard times and could no longer care for him, thus entrusting him to us.
His foster mom can't say enough about what a catch this boy is. Not only is Wyatt sweet as he is curious, but he's truly loyal - all true to the Cavalier breed. Wyatt's nickname is Mr. Curiosity because he curious about everything - people, animals, cars, you name it. He especially loves to watch it all go by from the window.
Wyatt is very smart too. He quickly learned to let his foster mom know when he needs to go potty and he's learning to be patient at meal time (he can be talkative when he's excited about food). But he's generally quiet and very well mannered.
Sweet Wyatt has completed his vetting (dental, exams, etc) and he's also seen a cardiologist since he has a murmur.
Wyatt is being fostered in Palm coast. His adoption fee is $350
