Featured Fosters: Clancy & Abby
We have two special seniors in search of a new forever home. Clancy (Cavalier) and Abby (Cocker) are a bonded pair. They are really active and would make a great addition for the right family. They must be adopted together. Read more about them on our Adoptable Cavaliers page.

In the first six months of the year we have raised $41,211 through fundraisers, donations and adoption fees. We are so grateful for your generosity!
Our expenditures for the first six months of the year, have totaled $37,419. Currently, 5% of our expenses have been for administrative costs like professional services, web and cloud hosting, supplies, postage and insurance. We are an all-volunteer organization, which means that none of the money raised is used to pay salaries. It is worth noting, that many of our annual administrative costs occur in the first two quarters of the year. To date, 1% of our expenditures have been spent on fundraising, such as the production of items to be sold in our online store. By keeping these expenses as low as possible, we can save more Cavaliers!
In the first two quarters of the year, we spent 94% of funds raised directly on the care of our Cavaliers. An average of $780 is spent per dog, with 90% of that being spent on medical care. Some of our rescues are healthy when they arrive and require only initial vetting. However, Cavalier Rescue of Florida never turns a dog away due to health or age. As a result, most of our rescues require medical care over $1000 and some will incur veterinary and specialist expenses in excess of $5000.
From time to time, we are asked why we collect adoption fees. The adoption fees help us recoup some of what was spent to care for each rescue. In most cases, the adoption fee is far less than the actual cost of caring for the Cavalier. The combination of adoption fees, donations and fundraisers is what allows Cavalier Rescue of Florida to operate and ensures our continued ability to save dogs. Thank you for your continued support, we truly can’t do this without you!
